Kick-off event "Comeback for more"

The research project "Broken Collection" is dedicated to the history of the broken porcelain collection at Loosdorf Castle and the tension between preservation and destruction.

The Loosdorf Castle collection of valuable porcelain pieces from three centuries from Europe and Asia - destroyed in the course of the Second World War - is on the move: 2023 is not only the year of the complete return of objects after an exhibition tour through Japan, but also the start of the "Broken Collection" research project, carried out by the Institute of Conservation and Restoration at the University of Applied Arts Vienna under the direction of Gabriela Krist.

The project starts with the exhibition "COMEBACK - for more". The show, which opens on May 20, presents the porcelains returned from Japan, provides information about the project and allows visitors to gain an insight into the conservation research and restoration of the shards.
