History
Loosdorf Castle was originally built as a fortress in the Middle Ages and was owned by a number of noble families.
In the course of the Thirty Years' War, the castle was extensively destroyed by a massive fire. The castle owes its present form to the Princes of Liechtenstein.
Due to its centuries-long history, the castle displays elements of the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and Classicism. The Piatti family acquired Loosdorf Castle in 1834.

Parts of the castle are open to the public.
On the one hand, the castle has a private museum, with parts of the shard collection currently on display in Japan.
The castle can also be rented for events, seminars and as a film and shooting location.
