Loosdorf Summer Talks 2024
Initiated by Alfons Piatti, the "Loosdorf Summer Talks" took place on July 17th with BM Totschnig. After a keynote speech by Professor Dr. Hülsbergen, which focused on the ecological added value of organic farming (carbon fixation and reduced environmental impact, quantifiable with an amount of 750€/ha), there was an intensive discussion on how organic farming could increase productivity (without ecological losses) on the one hand, and improve the economic situation of organic farms on the other.
The following points were discussed:
- Renaturation, which is an opportunity for organic farming
- Abolition of organic as a green-per-definition
- Food security and ensuring food supply
- Agroforestry and circular economy
