"The Tragedy of Loosdorf Castle" - Opening at the OKURA Museum of Art (Tokyo)

On the 4th of November 2020, the exhibition "The Tragedy of Loosdorf Castle" opened at the OKURA Museum of Art in Tokyo.

It shows large parts of the unique collection of shards of the Piatti family. The shards collection comes from a historical porcelain collection, which was almost completely destroyed by the Russian occupiers during World War 2.

The collection was analysed on site in Loosdorf by a research team from Gakshuin University in Tokyo and confirmed as Japanese cultural property.

Parts of the shard collection have been restored in Japan and are now on display together with the shards.
